Wonder Mountain Desert Cabin offers a true escape from the hustle.

We offer a small, unpretentious space in the solace and silence of the rural desert, the ancestral homelands of the Serrano, Cahuilla, Chemehuevi and Mohave (Mojave) indigenous communities, on the land that encompasses what’s known as so-called Joshua Tree National Park, Twentynine Palms, and Wonder Valley.

Disconnect from chaos with a healing soak under a canopy of stars in our hand-carved stone tub, filled with mineral spring waters from our living aquifer on the land - naturally flowing and fed to our private well, over 300’ deep below the earth’s surface.

Stargaze under the vast night sky, unblemished by light pollution, and witness the Aurora Borealis + Milky Way in all their shining glory.

You Joy Life and Wonder Mountain Open Source Space are dedicated to preserving the pristine environment of our unique high desert ecosystem. This includes protecting the dark night skies, the quiet soundscapes, the delicate flora and fauna, and the vast natural beauty of this sacred landscape. We honor the traditional communities who have stewarded this land for generations.

With this commitment in mind, we kindly ask that guests refrain from hosting parties, large events, film shoots, or using off-road vehicles on our property. However, we are happy to welcome individuals or small groups interested in hosting a wellness retreat that aligns with our values of sustainability and respect for nature.

We are particularly fond of Athene cunicularia, the Western Burrowing Owl.
